 As a child, I had visions of becoming a teacher and guide, a sense, even then, that my path would involve helping others through something deeper than the ordinary. Life shaped it quietly, one unexpected opportunity at a time. I took each one as it arose, from a place of knowing. Each one led somewhere I couldn’t have planned and somehow recognized when I arrived.

The opening began on San Francisco Bay, where the water became my most demanding teacher. As sailing instructor, then manager of the Boating Center, then director of the UC Berkeley Outdoor Education Program, and as First Officer on San Francisco Bay charter vessels, I learned to read what a situation truly needed before it became urgent.

What shaped me most was teaching fearful beginners how to harness the wind and waves and forces of the Bay with skill and confidence, for enjoyment, challenge, and discovery. Bearing witness to someone seeing they could do something they never believed possible became the thread I have followed ever since.

That thread carried into two and a half decades as a training manager at UC Berkeley, where the stakes were different yet the principle was the same. Safety wisdom and information, delivered well, inspires mindful attunement,  the quiet awareness that keeps people present and intact. Whether working with researchers, staff, or faculty, the work was always about meeting people where they are and helping them find their footing.

People shift behaviors when they feel genuinely met and seen, unforced.

Becoming a student of Energy Medicine, then Hypnosis, felt less like a departure and more like an arrival. Training through the Academy of Intuition Medicine® and the Jacquin Hypnosis Academy gave me a framework for what I had always been doing, and the tools to go deeper. What followed was a deconstruction and reintegration of everything I had learned, sensed, and practiced across every role.

All of it led to here and now.

Hypno Energetics is integrative by nature and by design. Drawing from neuroscience, somatic awareness, parts therapy, repetition, energy medicine, and hypnosis, the work is woven together in session, in real time, around the the needs and desires of the specific person in front of me.
